Two Bomber Track members earn State berths

Braham seniors Jacob Rajkowski and Austyn Eng will represent their respective Bomber track & field squads at this weekend’s Class A State Meet after earning berths at the May 30 Section 5A finals.

Rajkowski, son of Bomber coach Joe Rajkowski, sprinted to the 5A 400-meter title with a time of 51.63 seconds in an extremely tight finish where just 4/100s of a seconds separated the top three runners. Essentially, his final chest lean was the cutting difference, described Coach Rajkowski.

Jacob also placed 4th in the 200 (23.3) and 6th in the 100 (11.68). Zach Dahlman added an 11th-place time of 55.8 for the Bombers at sections.

Austyn Eng taking 2nd in the Section 5A pole vault at St. John's University.

Eng will make her third trip to State Track but her first entrance in the pole vault after she placed 2nd at St. John’s by clearing 9-08. Eng added an 8th-place time of 49.8 in the 300 hurdles.

Rajkowski competes Friday afternoon in the 400 prelims at Hamline University, and Eng will go on the pole vault on Saturday afternoon.

Also for the Bomber girls at sections, Kayla Nickles was 16th in the 400 (1:07.1) and Jessica Westman was 16th in the 1600 (6:12.3)
