Warrior Baseball finishes 3rd at CAL tourney

Cambridge Christian Baseball went 1-1 to place 3rd at the May 19 CAL Tourney hosted by Christian Life in Farmington. In the opener, Rosemount Baptist rallied from an 8-2 deficit to defeat the top-seed Warriors 10-8. Alex Moses pitched well for CCS over the first four innings, allowing just the two runs.

“I give the Rosemount Baptist pitcher a ton of credit. He was mentally tough and finished the game on a 135 pitches,” said CCS Coach Jerry Moses.

The Warriors rallied by taking the 3rd-place game 12-5 over  the rival CL Hawks. Jack Swenson and Alex Lecceardone homered for CCS. Moses finished the tourney with 6 hits and scored 6 times over the two games. Anthony Lecceardone pitched four innings to get the win against the Hawks.

• The Warriors closed the season with an 11-5 record after defeating Chesterton Academy 13-4 at home May 22. Peter Maring singled, doubled and smoked a triple to left-center, finishing with 4 runs in the game. Moses (5 innings) and Anth. Lecceardone (2 innings) shared pitching duties.
