Tigers top Bomber Softball in playoffs 

  In the May 18, 5A East playoff opener, No. 3 seed Rush City downed No. 6 Braham 7-4 to end the Bombers’ fastpitch season. Sara Tomlinson (pictured tagging an out at home vs. RC) pitched well by only allowing 2 earned runs, and she led the offense with 3 RBI.    • In 5A East action on May 22, Rush City stayed alive with a 5-1 win over No. 2 Hinckley-Finlayson, and top-seed Isle remained undefeated at 17-0 by blanking No. 4 Barnum 9-0. 

   In the 5A West, No. 5 Kimball upset top-seed Browerville 9-5, and No. 3 Eden Valley-Watkins ousted defending section Osakis 11-7. The 5A double-elimination tourney opens May 29 in St. Cloud.
