The Heavenly Harp duo, featuring harpists Karin and Joy Gunderson, will be giving a concert at 7 p.m., Friday, June 1, at Cambridge Lutheran Church.
This unusual concert opportunity is sponsored by the Cambridge Center for the Arts. A free-will offering will be received.
This remarkable mother and daughter duo offers “music to soothe and enrich the soul.” Enjoy a combination of harp duets, solos, inspirational stories from Karin’s work as a hospice harpist and peaceful music featuring flute, and vocals along with harp.
Joy Gunderson, at age 11, was already performing the Handel Harp Concerto; and now at age 21, is one of the top three harpists in the Phoenix metro area, and plays with professional mastery and sensitivity that will truly inspire you.
Joy has just finished her junior year at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. where she won the Philharmonia Concerto Competition and studies harp with the Minnesota Orchestra harpist, Kathy Kienzle, who has won numerous awards in teaching harp.
One recent concert attendee exclaimed, “Heaven can’t be much more beautiful than this.” There is no admission charge; offerings are accepted.
