Cambridge Farmer’s Market

Ongoing: Cambridge Farmer’s Market takes place on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the City Center Market parking lot. Oct. 27 will end the season.

Kids’ Events at Spirit River

Wednesday, May 16:  Spirit River Community Church Youth Group will be held at Isanti Intermediate School at 5:30 p.m. Kids Klub for 1st-3rd graders, and 456 Fellowship for 4th-6th graders, will be held at Spirit River Community Center in Isanti, 1320 Co. Rd. 5 NE (Spectacular Events Banquet Center) at 5:30 p.m. A meal is provided to visiting families at both locations.

In His Steps Ballet performance

Thursday, May 17: In His Steps Ballet & Performing Arts Co. presents its spring performance “Kindness Matters” at 7 p.m. at the Cambridge Community College.  A variety of dance forms will be showcased, along with vocal performances and silent auction. Part of the proceeds to support “Parentless Children of Darfur” and the military. Ticket prices: $10/adults, $7/children.

Cambridge Ambassadors host Princess Party

Friday, May 18: The Cambridge Ambassadors and 2012 Candidates are hosting a “Princess Party” for all young princesses of the kingdom at the AFRC/Community Center. The royal fun goes from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with an optional “Fashion Show” at 7:30. Activities are geared for ages 4 to 8, but all princesses are welcome. Cost is $20 at the door. Spaghetti Dinner

Friday, May 18: A Spaghetti Dinner at Long Lake Lutheran Church will be held from 4-7 p.m. Adults,  $5; 6-12, $3; and under 6 are free. Dinner includes spaghetti, garlic bread, dessert and beverage. The church is located at Hwy. 47 & 277th Ave. in Isanti.

Local Vendor Day

Saturday, May 19: A dozen or so of their favorite local suppliers will be in City Center Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  to let you taste their products, tell you about their farms and shops, and offer you good deals. As usual, there will be specials on many locally-grown and produced items, too. City Center Café will sample their coffee – it’s Peace Coffee (organic, fair trade, and shade-grown) and offer 10% off brewed coffee and bags of Peace coffee beans. Stop in, enjoy some samples, and take home great food. City Center Market is located at 122 N. Buchanan St., Cambridge.

Music in the Café

Saturday, May 19: Kenny Krona, local guitarist and singer, will perform at City Center Café from 4-6 p.m. Kenny plays a wide variety of popular rock, pop, and country music and more. Come in for coffee or a smoothie and a piece of cheesecake, and enjoy. The Café will host Kenny on the third Saturday of each month, from 4-6 p.m., for the next several months. City Center Café is located next to City Center Market at 122 N. Buchanan St., Cambridge.

Four Seasons Garden Club Plant Sale

Saturday, May 19: The Four Seasons Garden Club is having its annual Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City Market parking lot outside Mom’s Coop in Cambridge. Lots of plant varieties at cheap prices.

Pancake and Waffle Breakfast

Sunday, May 20: The Cambridge Lions are serving pancakes, waffles, & scrambled eggs with ham to benefit the Cambridge Ambassador Program at Christ the King Catholic Parish Hall in Cambridge from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. $6 for adults; $3 for children ages 3-11.

Cambridge Senior Dance

Wednesday, May 23: Cambridge Senior Dance will be held from 1-4 p.m. at the American Legion in Cambridge with Michael James playing. Cost $5.

Friends of Grass Lake Church Meeting

Thursday, May 24: The Friends of the Grass Lake Church will meet at 4:45 p.m. at the Kanabec County History Center in the Coin School. All interested persons are welcome to attend and assist in planning future events.

Annual Memorial Day Get Together

Saturday, May 26: The annual get together at the Old Maple Ridge Covenant Church, located west of Braham, will begin with a potluck at noon, followed by a program at 1 p.m. Bring your own picnic dishes, beverages will be furnished. Program will be held by Nadette Waligora.

Royalton Memorial Day Services

Sunday, May 27: The annual Memorial Day services will be held at Royalton Memorial Cemetery, northeast of Braham, at 2 p.m. The speaker will be Pastor Jennisch from Braham Covenant Church. Music will be provided by the GARMS family of Braham. Pictures of the chapel on hand painted plates will be available for sale. Lunch will be served-free will offering. Everyone is welcome.

Isanti Community Blood Drive

Tuesday, May 29: An Isanti Community Blood Drive with the American Red Cross will held from 1:30-6:30 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. For an appointment call 1-800-733-2767. Walk-ins welcome.
