COMMUNITY SPORTS: The Cambridge Medical Center Foundation will host a Women’s Golf Invitational at the Tournament Player’s Club of the Twin Cities in Blaine on Tuesday, June 12. Proceeds from this charity event will support the expansion and renovation of the Emergency Department.
The four-women scramble invite begins at 8 a.m. Fees are $125/golfer or $500/team which includes 18 holes, cart, lunch and prizes. Contact the CMC Foundation at 763-688-9393 to register or learn how to be a sponsor for the event.
DNR Land Sale May 30
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ Land Sale page has been updated with information on the upcoming public auction. The DNR will offer 12 parcels of land for sale at public auction May 30 at 11 a.m. in the DNR’s Central office, 500 Lafayette Road, St. Paul, MN 55155. Registration begins at 10:30 am.
Parcels are located in the northern portion of the state including Aitkin, Crow Wing, Cook, Hubbard and St. Louis counties. While some parcels have been offered before, values are reflecting the change in the real estate market and may be at lower prices than previously offered. M-8 Conference expanding in 2013
With the addition of Princeton, St. Francis, and North Branch, the Mississippi 8 Conference in the fall of 2013 has nine schools committed as of the end of April. The Chisago Lakes Board of Education tabled the offer to join the conference and will make a decision later in May.
For the fall of 2013 the Mississippi 8 Conference has these schools set: Big Lake, Buffalo, Cambridge-Isanti, Monticello, North Branch, Princeton, Rogers, St. Francis, and St. Michael-Albertville.
Added to the mix for 2012 M-8 Football will be Duluth East and Duluth Denfeld.
