C-I girls 4×200 relay record set at True Team

In their lone action last week, the Cambridge-Isanti track & field squads placed 7th at the True Team sections hosted by White Bear Lake.

“This is a very competitive meet. I am proud of how well the girls finished.  We have so many talented athletes in a variety of events, it makes it fun to watch,” noted C-I Girls Coach Linda Droubie.

C-I’s 4×200 relay of Lily Porta, Carlynn Galeazzi, Melyssa Varsoke and Erica Young broke the school record that was held since 1984 with a time of 148.66.

Young also finished 4th in the 200m dash at 26.82 and 5th in the long jump (15-08). Adelle Nelson was 2nd in the pole vault at 10-0, and Anna Nelson was 7th at 8-06.  Kylie Baas placed 2nd in the high jump (5-0), and Britta Rud came in 3rd (also at 5-0). Emily Santiago Holboy finished 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 36-0.

• Top performers for the Bluejacket boys at the True Teams were the following: Aaron Kordiak 3rd in the 400 (51. 39); Trevor Galligan 8th in the 800 (2:02.0); the  4×200 of Dan Kropdilowski, Travis Holt, Kyle Willette and Justin Rud 7th place (1: 34. 09);

The 4×400 of Kropdilowski, Holt, Matt Kuehn and Galligan 6th place (3:33.72); Forrest Kalk 5th in the high jump (6-0); Jordan Kalk 7th in the high jump (5-10); Patrick Jones 5th in the pole vault (13-0); Bryant Nelson 8th in the pole vault (11-6); and Jeremy Ham 7th in the discus (135-07).

• The next big meet for the Bluejackets will be the Mississippi 8 Championships hosted May 22 at St. Michael-Albertville.
