C-I Bowlers head to State tourney

The Cambridge-Isanti squads will compete in the 13th State Adapted Bowling Tournament. The tourney will be held Friday, May 18, at Brunswick Zone in Eden Prairie.

All five Alexandria teams will try to make it two championships in a row in the CI Division team competition, while two St. Paul Highland Park entries will try for the same in the PI Division. There are three competitions for athletes in both divisions — boys or girls singles, doubles, and team.

On Thursday, May 17 (10 a.m.) there will be a voluntary  Pep Fest in the CIHS gym to celebrate and send off the Bluejackets.

The Bluejackets took on section-partner Monticello last Friday, with the Bluejacket PI squad earning a 1190-1153 victory. Posting scores were Jackson Larson– 402, Cody Beardslee– 360, Dominic Slatter– 382, Chrissty Schermerhorn– 404, and Victoria Koukol– 370.

The Magic CI team went on to defeat the Jackets 2367-2267. Pacing the Bluejackets were Austin Sprandal– 381, Abby Keller– 372, Jon Furlong– 369, Joshua Cook– 387, Chrissy Baker– 365, Brianna Hoover– 365 and Cory Hoover– 393.

• Back on May 4, Spring Lake Park swept the Bluejacket bowl teams in a pair of tight matches. The Panther PI group tipped Cambridge-Isanti 381-392, and the Panther CI bowlers held for a 2087-1946 win.

Rolling for the Jackets in the PI division against the Panthers were: Dominic Slattery– 404, Jackson Larson– 395, Cody Beardslee– 340, Chrissy Schermerhorn– 381, and Victoria Koukol– 348.

In the CI division, the Bluejackets were represented by: Brianna Hoover– 404, Austin Sprandal– 392, Abby Keller– 366, Jon Furlong– 395, Joshua Cook– 352, Chrissy Baker– 345, and Cory Hoover– 389.
