Busy week for Bomber Track

Gearing up for next Wednesday’s Great River Conference Track & Field championships, the Braham squads had a busy three-meet stretch last week. On May 3, both teams placed 3rd at the Ogilvie Lion Pride won by the Ogilvie boys and the Mille Lacs girls.

Jacob Rajkowski sprinted to wins in three events for the Bomber boys, winning the 100-meter dash in 11.7, the 200 in 23.8 and the 400 in 51.9. Zach Dahlman added a 1st place in the Triple Jump (33-09), with Bryce Lanhart placing 2nd in the Triple (31-09). Connor TenNapel added a 3rd-place time of 2:40 in the 800.

The Bomber girls were led at the Lion Pride with 1st places from Austyn Eng in the Pole Vault (8-06) and Jaclyn Hollenkamp in the 100 (13.3). Jessica Westman added a 2nd-place 6:11 in the 1600. Also placing 2nd was the 4×800 relay of Julia Lindgren, Sammy Patterson, Westman and Jenna Winter (11:36).

• On May 4, the Braham girls were 4th and the boys 6th at the Ron Jensen Invite hosted at Hinckley, with the Jaguar teams taking both titles. Eng swept 1st places in the Pole Vault (8-06) and 300 Hurdles (50.6). She teamed with Lindgren, Kayla Nickles and Hollenkamp to win the 4×200 relay (1:55). Also posting a 1st place for the Bomber girls was Winter in the High Jump (4-06), and she added a 3rd on the Pole Vault (7-06).

The Braham boys earned a win in the 4×200 as Logan White, Marshall Sward, Luke Whitehead and Rajkowski combined for a 1:37 time. Rajkowski added another 1st place in the 200 (23.0), with Dahlman placing 3rd in the 400 (55.8).
