COMMUNITY SPORTS: Area athletes are invited to jump into summer at the 10th annual Paddle, Pedal and Run the morning of Saturday, June 2.The Cambridge Cycling Club has hosted the Paddle, Pedal & Run since 2002 during the same time of year. The old Manke’s Resort area on Spectacle Lake has been the headquarters and transition spot through the years.
The event begins with the first heat at 8 a.m. and progresses quickly to be done around noon or so. Competitors in the Paddle portion of the event use either a canoe or kayak, with canoes for rent; the course is a 1.5-mile triangular layout. Transitioning into the Pedal portion, the 11.3-mile ride is an out-and-back loop, taking cyclists through the scenic short hills southwest of Spectacle. The Run covers a 2.25-mile course from Manke’s to Hwy. 47 and back along Co. Rd. 37. Athletes can sign up as an individual or 4-person team by logging on to active.com.

Cambridge-Isanti Competitive Football informational meeting on Tuesday May 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Cambridge Middle School. C-I Football Golf Scramble May 19
The Cambridge-Isanti Football program will host a fundraising golf scramble at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 at the Purple Hawk CC. Fees are $75/person or $300/team which includes 18 holes w/cart, steak dinner and golf gift.
