Ongoing: Cambridge Farmer’s Market takes place on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the City Center Market parking lot. Oct. 27 will end the season.
Free Community Dinner, Bread Distribution
Thursday, May 3: A free community dinner and bread distribution will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. It’s hosted by Cambridge UPC Church, located at 210 10th Ave SW, Cambridge, (renting the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Questions, or need a ride, call Pastor David L. Willis at 651-674-8842.
Free Veterans and Military Family Picnic, Forum
Thursday, May 3: A free Veterans and Military Family Picnic, as well as a forum, will be held at the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Cambridge Campus. Beginning at 5 p.m. there will be a picnic for Veterans and Military Families. At 7 p.m., in Room G202, there will be a Veterans Forum featuring Congressman Chip Cravaack. All are welcome, and bring the kids. You will also be able to visit the Mobile Vet Center and try the Climbing Wall. Sponsored by the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Military Education Resource Center.
Recycling for Beyond the Yellow Ribbon
Saturday, May 5: Clarence Recycling, located just south of Isanti on Hwy. 65, is teaming with area families for a fund drive on Saturday, May 5 and Saturday, Oct. 6 this year. On those days, Clarence, who is an Armed Forces veteran, will donate all proceeds from aluminum cans recycled at his center to the Isanti County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon program which supports military service members, veterans and their families.
New Face of Guatemala Fundraiser
Saturday, May 5: The New Face of Guatemala Cinco de Mayo 5k and Family Fest Fundraiser will be held from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Brown Park, 905 24th Ave SW, Cambridge. This event will help raise funds needed to perform life-changing “hands-on” projects for some of the poorest children and their families in Guatemala. This event will feature: 5k for all ages at 11 a.m.; 1k for ages 12 and under at 11:45 a.m.; walking nachos served from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; activities for kids; silent auction bidding closes at noon and craft sales. MS Walk in Cambridge
Sunday, May 6: Registration for the MS Walk in Cambridge will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Anoka Ramsey Community College Cambridge Campus. The walk is 1.5 miles or 3.0 miles to walk. Once you have registered, you can begin the walk. There will be snacks, hot dogs, Subway and water for walkers. They will also have a DJ and face painting and prize drawings.
