New Pathways seeks volunteer board members

New Pathways, Inc is a not-for-profit agency governed by a volunteer board of directors. Its mission is to ensure that the homeless population, specifically families with children, have resources, skills and assistance necessary to thrive.

They have two Interfaith Hospitality Network programs, located in Cambridge and Brainerd, providing shelter to homeless families with children. Including shelter, families also receive comprehensive case management and skills building. During the 6-month follow up, the families are able to exit the program and still receive most services to ensure success.

Their Global Ends Statement is as follows:

• Homeless families with children have a safe warm place to sleep and receive three meals a day;

• Clients have the skills necessary to secure and maintain appropriate housing;

• To raise public awareness regarding the needs of homeless families;

• Families thrive: Evidence of this are such things as: content in beliefs, principled habit, affordable housing available, families are together, lives changed, optimistic for the future, continuation of recourses available for clients and families are healthy and function as individuals in society.

New Pathways is currently looking to attract new members to join its Board of Directors. If you have experience and/or expertise in the areas of social work, finance, human resources, government, the law, and more importantly have a shared interest in, and strong commitment to their mission and principles, consider joining them.

Interested individuals are encouraged to express their interest in writing to the attention of: Marge Burns, Homeless Advocate, New Pathways, PO Box 366, Cambridge, MN 55008.
