Bomber Golf showing success on the links

The Braham girls golf squad posted four wins over the past meets. A highlight was the Bombers’ Caitlin Richmond shooting a 40 to earn medalist when her team defeated host Hinckley on the Grand National GC layout. Also firing for the Bombers at the April 24 meet were Brianna Richmond (53) Cortney Vanderport (62) and Ariel Ramstad (67).

Back on April 17, the Braham girls held off Isle-Onamia 232-239 in a GRC dual on Fiddlestix GC. Caitlin Richmond again medaled with Lauren Vanderport (56), C. Vanderport (62) and B. Richmond (64) working the course.

C. Richmond (46) and Ali Anderson (53) led the Bombers to a 214 score to win at East Central on April 26, with L. Vanderport (57) and B. Richmond (58) also contributing. On April 27, the Bombers hosted Legacy Christian and won 230-234. The Richmonds again led the way with rounds of 50 and 51 at the Hawk, with L. Vanderport chipping in a 59.

• At Monday’s Purple Hawk Boys Invitational, the Bombers placed 12th with a 395 total. Posting scores for Braham were Quinn Richmond (92), Dylan Altendorf (99), Josh Eliasson (102) and Brandon Brown (102).

• On May 1, the Bombers swept a GRC dual at Aitkin, with the boys slipping past the Gobblers 222-223. Dylan Altendorf was co-medalist with a 1-over 37; he was followed by Josh Eliasson (42), Quinn Richmond (43), and Brandon Brown (49).

The Bomber girls won a 171-178 match with Caitlin Richmond continuing her medalist string with a 43. She was joined by Ali Anderson (56), Brianna Richmond (60) and Cortney Vanderport (63).

Dylan Altendorf was co-medalist with a 37 at the GRC meet at Atikin May 1.

Both Braham teams get back into GRC meet action at Moose Lake May 7 and Pine City May 8.
