He passed in the loving care of his best friend and long-time love, Sandy Wicklund Overturf and his beloved cat, Goofy.
He is also survived by his son Brian (Terri) Johnson of West Richland, Wash., daughter Brenda (Bill) Sears of International Falls, Minn., sister Margie Weis of Cambridge, brother Steven (Grace) Johnson of North Branch, stepsister Beverly (Duane) McDonald of Kent, Wash., six grandchildren: Nick (Mandy) Sears, Becky (Wes) Harder, Ashley (Roma) Korzinski, Zack (Lindsey) Sears, Amanda (Nick) Johnson, and Adrienne (Derek) Johnson.
He had seven and a half great-grandchildren: Curtis, Carsen, Gavin, Taylor, Gunner, Chelsea, Myles and baby.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward (Pete) Johnson, stepfather Warren Erickson, mother Norma Erickson and stepbrother Neil Erickson.
He spent most of his life in the Cambridge, North Branch and Pine City areas, farming or driving truck most of his working life.
Lyle loved fishing, hunting, and farming, and he enjoyed his eight years of retirement fishing on Mille Lacs Lake. He will be truly missed by family, friends and loved ones.
There will be a small private celebration of his life at a future date.
