Kids’ Events at Spirit River
Wednesday, April 18:
Spirit River Community Church Youth Group will be held at Isanti Intermediate School at 5:30 p.m. Kids Klub for 1st-3rd graders, and 456 Fellowship for 4th-6th graders, will be held at Spirit River Community Center in Isanti, 1320 Co. Rd. 5 NE (formerly’s Spectacular Events Banquet Center) at 5:30 p.m. Come and have a fun time, and a meal is provided to visiting families at both locations.
Community Health Fair at GracePointe Crossing
Thursday, April 19:
Head over to GracePointe Crossing Gables West from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the Community Health Fair for an educational and enlightening time. Learn ways to improve your health physically, spiritually and emotionally with healthy cooking tips, stress management tips, hearing aid maintenance, blood pressure checks, walker checks, as well as information on living wills and wellness journals. There will be tours, door prizes and refreshments.
Free Community Dinner
Thursday, April 19:
A free Community Dinner will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Use the downstairs entrance. Everyone is welcome to join for a time of fellowship and a meal. Call the church office at 763-444-9201 with questions.
Friday, April 20:
A walleye dinner will be served from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Dalbo. There will also be a craft and bake sale. Serving walleye, homemade meatballs, parsley buttered potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, relishes, rolls, coffee, milk and bars. Adults: $10, ages 6-12: $4, 5 and under: free.
Riverboat Gala at Spirit River
Saturday, April 21:
Spirit River Community will host a Riverboat Gala at the Spirit River Community Center in Isanti. All are welcome to come enjoy the evening, Tickets are $50/ plate. For more information call Pastor Jim at 763-413-6896.
Pancake Breakfast to benefit 3-Day Team
Sunday, April 22:
A Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Isanti Community Center. The event is hosted by the Isanti Lions, with proceeds benefitting the Isanti 3-Day Team. $6 Adults, $5 Seniors and children 6-12, under 6 are free. Basket raffle, Quilt raffle and cookbooks available. Tickets available from any Isanti 3 Day Walker and at the door.
Sons of Norway meeting
Tuesday, April 24:
The Sons of Norway will meet at 7 p.m. at the Senior Activity Center (SACS), 332 3rd Ave. NW in Cambridge. The program will be Norwegian Etiquette. Men and women are invited—you don’t even have to be Norwegian—just be interested in exploring Scandinavian culture and genealogy with friendly people. Refreshments will be served.
Spring Salad Buffet

The Cambridge United Methodist Church, 404 N. Cypress St., will be having their annual Salad Buffet from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost for advance tickets is $6.50; at the door is $7; children 3 and younger are free. The Cambridge Senior Dance will be held from 1-4 p.m. with Jerry Bierschbach playing. The dance will be held at the American Legion in Cambridge, and cost is $5.
Mad Hatter Tea Party, Open House

The Cambridge-Isanti Women of Today invite all women to a “Mad Hatter Tea Party and Open House” at 7 p.m. at the Minnco Community Center in Cambridge. The event is free, but an RSVP is requried by visiting the C-I Women of Today on Facebook or by calling Linda at 763-689-5821. The evening will be packed with fun and adventure.

Panckake Breakfast for St. Scholastica School

The Christ the King Knights of Columbus Council 12813 in Cambridge will hold a Pancake Breakfast at the Catholic Parish Hall from 8 a.m. to noon. All proceeds will be given to St. Scholastica School. Cost of the delicious all-you-can-eat breakfast is $6, for adults, $3, for children 6-12 and 5 and under free. Also featured is a silent auction and bake sale.

The city of Cambridge will host a Recycle Event on from 9 a.m. to noon. This event will be held in the Cambridge City Hall parking lot. You can recycle your old electronics, appliances, fluorescent bulbs, and batteries. Computers and batteries are no charge, other items fees apply. Spring Workday at Anderson Park

The public is invited to help plant tree and shrub seedlings during the Spring Workday at Isanti County’s Anderson Park from 9 a.m. to noon. Adults and children are welcome. The park is being restored to prairie and oak savanna and your help is needed. Bring work gloves and a spade shovel (if you have one). Snacks and drinks will be available. The park is located at 27241 Furman St NE – North Branch, in the southeast corner of Isanti County on Co. Rd. 18, a quarter mile north of Co. Rd. 9 and 2 miles south of Co. Rd. 5. Fundraiser for Layla Tresedder
Sunday, May 6:
A Fundraiser for Layla Tresedder will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Isanti Community Center, 121 Norelius St. Layla was diagnosed with a childhood leukemia recently, resulting in her family incurring a substantial medical debt. Faith Lutheran Church, together with Thrivent Financial, will host the fundraiser. This event will include a silent auction and a pancake breakfast served by the Isanti Lions. There will also be entertainment featuring a clown, live bands and other activities for all ages. Tickets are $10 at the door.
MS Walk in Cambridge
Sunday, May 6:
Registration for the MS Walk in Cambridge will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Anoka Ramsey Community College Cambridge Campus. The walk is 1.5 miles or 3.0 miles to walk. Once you have registered, you can begin the walk. There will be snacks, hot dogs, Subway and water for walkers. They will also have a DJ and face painting and drawings. Prize drawings range from Perkins, movie tickets to car washes and more. Winner not be present to win. Free Computer Class

A free computer class will be held at Joy Lutheran Church, just south of Cambridge, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. To register call Vicki at 763-689-5912. This is a beginning computer class, but will benefit people at all skill levels. Topics include: computer terminology, the parts inside the computer, tips for buying one, should you buy a laptop, pros and cons of different stores, and plenty of time for questions. The instructor is Dave Larson.
Fourth Annual Bird Walk at Anderson Park

The public is invited to the Fourth Annual Bird Walk at Anderson County Park from 8-11:30 a.m. Join expert birders Joe Sausen and Tom Anderson from the local Wild River Audubon Chapter as they explore the park for spring migrant and returning resident birds. Last year over 50 species were identified—including many colorful warblers. This year boardwalks across 3 wetlands and a raised viewing platform will offer new areas to spot birds. The park is located at 27241 Furman St NE – North Branch, in the southeast corner of Isanti County on Co. Rd. 18, a quarter mile north of Co. Rd. 9 and 2 miles south of Co. Rd 5. Veterans Services and Benefits

Come to GracePointe Crossing Heritage Center at 1 p.m. for a Veterans Services and Benefits update. Jim Rostberg, Officer with Isanti County Veterans Services, will present the latest programs and resources available to veterans. Tours available following the presentation. Cambridge Ambassadors host Princess Party
Friday, May 18:
The Cambridge Ambassadors and 2012 Candidates are hosting a “Princess Party” for all young princesses of the kingdom at the AFRC/Community Center. The royal fun goes from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with an optional “Fashion Show” at 7:30. Activities are geared for ages 4 to 8, but all princesses are welcome. Cost is $18 by May 11 or $20 at the door.
