Diane Rahn (Diedrich)

Diane Rahn (Diedrich), 72, of Long Grove, Ill., formerly of East Bethel, died peacefully March 24, 2012 at the Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill.

Diane was born July 20, 1939 in St. Cloud, Minn. to the late Arthur and Cecelia (Petron) Diedrich. She was a 1957 graduate of St. Cloud Cathedral High School, and attended St. Cloud State University. Diane married Ed Clark on Nov. 1, 1958. They had two children and later divorced. She married James Rahn on April 16, 1968 and had two more children. They resided in East Bethel, Minn. In 2010, when Diane became ill, she moved to Long Grove, Ill., to live with her daughter.

Diane was blessed with talented hands that she used to become a gifted pianist and expert crafter. Her quilts, crafts, crocheting, and sewing will be forever treasured by her family and friends.

Diane is survived by her husband Jim, of East Bethel, Minn. and her children Kelly (Ken) Friend, Long Grove, Ill..; Tim (Linda) Rahn, Sandwich, Ill..; John (Debbie) Rahn, Medford, Minn..; Jason (Nikki) Rahn, Andover, Minn.; 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and sisters, Dorene (Wayne) Zimmerman, St. Cloud, Minn.; and DeNae (John) O’Connell, Rosemount, Minn.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Diane Rahn will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 21 at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Rev. Howard Skulstad officiating.
