New officer joins Cambridge Police

Katie Walker is the newest member of the Cambridge Police Department. Walker was officially sworn in during the Cambridge City Council meeting Monday, April 2.

Walker earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State University. In addition to her bachelor degrees, Walker received her EMT-Basic Certification through Century College.

Prior to becoming employed at the police department, Walker was a reserve officer with Roseville Police Department for three years. Prior to that she was an Explorer with the Minnesota State Patrol Explorers program for three years. During her time at the Minnesota State Patrol, she was promoted to the highest rank of Captain in her final year.

Walker is married and lives with her husband Dan in the metro area. In her free time, she is an avid bow hunter and enjoys hiking in the outdoors with her husband. She also enjoys volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.
