Award winning folk musicians to perform in Rush City

Ellinor and Leonor, two award winning folk musicians from Sweden will give a concert at the Rushseba Town Hall, in Rush City, on Friday, April 13, at 7 p.m.

Ellinor Fritz is the 2010 winner of the Tällberg Foundation’s scholarship for young musicians in Dalarna, Sweden and in 2011 was given title of Riksspelman, a national folk music designation in Sweden.

The Belgo-Argentinian cellist Leonor Palazzo got her Masters degree at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in 2009. She has recently performed at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

This concert is sponsored by the North Chicago Historical Society and We R Able, a program for adults with disabilities.  Donations are cheerfully accepted, and refreshments follow the concert. The address of the Rushseba Town Hall is 51533 Forest Blvd. There is a lot of road construction in the downtown areas, so guests should take the Hwy. 361 detour, going north past the Grant House for about half a mile. The building is tan and on the east side of the road.

The evening is made possible in part by grant funds from the East Central Regional Arts Council as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature. For more information call 320-358-1210.
