COMMUNITY SPORTS: Have you played high school or college baseball in the past? Dust off your glove and spikes and come to the 2012 Isanti Redbird tryouts. The Redbirds are one of two amateur baseball teams in the Cambridge-Isanti area. The Redbirds will be hosting their annual tryout on Sunday, April 15 at 2 p.m. at the Redbird Field in Isanti. Sanbrook Golf leagues forming
Leagues for the 2012 season are now forming at Sanbrook GC in Isanti, with openers starting in early May for the following: Monday Senior Men’s 18-hole day league, Wednesday Knights of Columbus league and Thursday Men’s Two-Man MGA Handicap league. Grandy Wednesday Morning Women’s Golf league forming
Grandy 9 Wednesday Womens’ Morning League will begin on June 6 at 7 a.m. and continues until the end of August. Green fees are very inexpensive and the camaraderie is great. DNR confiscated hunting & fishing equipment auction
The DNR will be having an auction of confiscated hunting and fishing equipment on Saturday, April 28. The auction is open to the public. Items being offered for sale include, but are not limited to: firearms, bows, tree stands, fishing rods and reels, tip ups, traps, trail camera, depth finder, spotlights, scopes, spears, hand ice augers. There are 309 firearms, 72 bows, 236 other items, and 37 firearms being sold for parts. Anyone purchasing a firearm will be required to pass a background check.
The auction will be held at Hiller Auction Service (10785 261st Avenue, Zimmerman. Inspection of items is available on Friday, April 27 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and at 8 a.m. the day of the auction. The auction will start at 10 a.m. Once the auction begins there will be no access to the firearms.
