Deborah K. Zins

Deborah K. Zins, 43, of Isanti died April 2, 2012 after a 14-month battle with cancer.

Deborah Kathryn Zins was born April 28, 1968 in New Ulm, Minn. to Thomas and Kathryn (Ballard) Lentz. She was raised in New Ulm and graduated from New Ulm High School in 1986. On May 23, 1987 Deb married Wayne Zins at United Church of Christ in New Ulm. They made their home in New Ulm until 1994 when they moved to Isanti. She worked as a tax accountant at Peter and Associates in Isanti and also as an office manager at North Metro Saw in Cambridge. Her most important job was being a homemaker and mom. She was a tremendous organizer and she enjoyed helping others. Deb also was a fabulous cook and she enjoyed gardening and yard work. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Deb will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Wayne, daughter, MaryBeth, and son, Benjamin, all of Isanti; parents, Thomas and Kathryn Lentz of Stacy; sister, Linnea Lentz (Timothy Mattsson) of Stacy; grandmother, Edna Lentz of Timpson, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Sandra Zins of North Branch; brother-in-law, David (Amy) Zins and their children Joe and Sam of Mora; and by many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wallace Lentz; and Edwin and Beth (Parsons) Ballard.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7 at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti with Rev. Clifton Hanson officiating. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 6 at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel and also one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Relay for Life, Cambridge-Isanti Dollars For Scholars and the Isanti County Food Pantry.
