Taste of Isanti County

Thursday, March 29: The Rotary Club of Cambridge & Isanti, 7th Annual Taste of Isanti County Fundraiser, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Armed Forces Reserve Community Center, 505 Spirit River Drive South, Cambridge. Tickets are $20 and available from a Rotarian or at the door. Come and enjoy savory food and wine samples from local restaurants and vineyards. Also take a moment to browse the unique pieces of art on display and for sale, while enjoying music by local musicians. Proceeds from the event benefit residents of the Cambridge and Isanti communities.

Fish Fry Dinner

Friday, March 30: Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti will hold a Lenten Fish Fry from 4:30-7 p.m. All you can eat fish, potatoes, vegetables, coleslaw, dessert, and beverages will be served. Cost is $9/adult, $5/ages 6-12 and 5 and under are free. The church is located at the intersection of Co. Rds. 5 & 23 in Isanti. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council #10238.

Spring Li’l Farm Sale

March 30 & 31: The Spring Li’l Farm Sale will be held Friday, March 30, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 31, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Christ the King Parish Hall, 315 North Fern St., Cambridge. Included will be the usual array of gift items, beautiful spring flowers, and, of course, cinnamon rolls.

Spring Bake & Craft Sale

Saturday, March 31: A Spring Bake & Craft Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cambridge City Center (formerly Cambridge Mall). Proceeds go to the Isanti County Humane Society “Share the Care.”

Braham Beach Bash

Saturday, March 31: The Braham Beach Bash Celebration will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Braham Area Elementary School Cafeteria. There will be a special appearance by “Bob the Beach Comber,” as well as a giant sandbox, beach balls, parachute fun, face painting, fish pond, tattoos and more. Free party favors include leis, sunglasses and an icy treat. Cost is $2 per person, under 1 is free.

Craft Sale to benefit work in Guatemala

Saturday, March 31: A Craft Sale to benefit ‘The New Face of Guatemala’ will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Captains on Long Lake, 27821 Bayshore Drive, Isanti. Over 20 crafters and vendors will be there. ‘The New Face of Guatemala’ is a team of five women that are raising funds to support their service work in Guatemala this May. They will be building homes, serving in homeless shelters, schools, malnutrition centers, orphanages, hospitals and nursing homes. Any questions, contact Shawn Johnson at 612-709-0914.

Thursday, April 5: A Free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution, hosted by Cambridge UPC Church, 210 10th Ave SW, Cambridge, (Renting the Seventh Day Adventists Church) will be held from 5-7 p.m. If you need a ride or for further questions contact Pastor David L. Willis  at 651-674-8842. Dinners & Bread Distribution are held the 1st Thursday of each month.

Four Seasons Garden Club’s Open House

Monday, April 9: The Four Seasons Garden Club will be having its annual Open House at 7 p.m. at the Minnco Center, 236 2nd Ave. SW, Cambridge. The guest speaker is Philippe Gallandat, owner of Swiss Gardens with the topic being “Landscape Renovation and Gardening Revisited.” Gallandat holds a BA – MA (equivalent) In Agriculture – Horticulture – Landscape Design in Geneva Switzerland. He is owner of Swiss Gardens, St. Paul, a landscape design company. He was winner of the 2006 St. Paul Golden Bloom Award in the category Art in the Garden. Northern Gardener magazine profiled Philippe’s garden in the Nov./Dec. 2007 issue. The cover of the magazine featured some of the yard decorations he made. He also discussed container gardens at the 2012 Minneapolis Home & Garden Show. All welcome.

Pancake Breakfast to benefit 3-Day Team

Sunday, April 22: A Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Isanti Community Center. The event is hosted by the Isanti Lions, with proceeds benefitting the Isanti 3-Day Team. $6 Adults, $5 Seniors and children 6-12, under 6 are free. Basket raffle, Quilt raffle and cookbooks available. Tickets available from any Isanti 3-Day Walker and at the door.

New Pathways Rib Feed

Saturday, April 28: New Pathways will host Rib Feed 2012 at the Cambridge American Legion from 4-8 p.m. Full portion, $12; child portion, $5.
