Gail Marie Engblom Cockerham of Saint Johns, Fla., beloved wife and mother, born Jan. 21, 1949, died Feb. 25, 2012, and went home to her lord and Savior, Jesus after a long battle with cancer.
Gail was a retired school teacher from Anoka-Hennepin Minnesota School system. She and her husband, Ron retired and made their home in Florida in 2001.
Gail was an active member of Fruit Cove Baptist Church. Gail was very active in the church and many church related ministries including teaching AWANA at Creekside Christian Church.
Gail was preceded in death by her father, Roy J. Engblom.
Survivors include her loving husband Ron Cockerham, Saint Johns, Fla.; her three step-children, Jamison Cockerham and fiancée Sarah King of Bloomington, Ind., Ken Cockerham of Gaithersburg, Md., Sarita Cockerham of St. Cloud, Minn.; sister Jean Engblom of Shoreview, Minn.; brother John Engblom and sister-in-law Debbie; niece Cydnie of Isanti, Minn. and her mother Marjorie Engblom of Cambridge, Minn.
There will be a Memorial service at 5 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, and a Memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10 at Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 SR 13 Fruit Cove.
Gail’s family is requesting no flowers, and are asking that donations be made in Gail’s honor to The Gideon’s, Fruit Cove Baptist Church Missions or Community Hospice.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, Jacksonville, Fla.
