At last weekend’s Section 7AA Wrestling Individuals in Mora, Rush City-Braham senior Brady Anderson broke through to State by placing 2nd at 138 lbs.
Anderson opened sections with a pin, then took a 5-4 decision in the semifinals. In the 138 championship, Chisago Lakes’ Zupko held for a 5-4 decision to take the crown.
Anderson (21-10) will represent the Tigers in the Class AA Individuals which begin March 2 at the Xcel Center. In the opener he will have a battle with Scott West’s Fogarty (30-11). That half of the 138 brackets are stacked with Foley’s Goble and Simley’s Mack Short also ranked wrestlers.
The Tigers had three members place 3rd at the 7AAs. At 160, Isaiah Johnson took his 3rd-place match 10-7 before losing by pin to North Branch’s Mork in the True Second bout. At 171, Logan Johnson earned a 5-1 decision for 3rd place but was pinned by Hinckley’s Schwartz in the True Second. And at 195, Jacob Lynch got a 3-1 decision in the 3rd-place match before losing by fall to Nashwauk’s Erkkila in the True Second.
Also for RC-B, Jonathan Mielke was 4th at 182 and Dylan Arispe placed 6th at 132.
