Draining a three-pointer in the first half Feb. 17 in the Braham gym, senior Tyler Vaughan joined the 3,000-point club in Minnesota high school basketball in style. Vaughan kept rolling to total 33 points in the Bombers’ 102-41 thrashing of the visiting Tigers.

After scoring 37 points in the Feb. 21 victory over Moose Lake-Willow River, Vaughan now has 3,051 career points. He is seventh all-time in MN boys basketball history– just four points behind sixth-place Cole Olstad of Plainview-Elgin-Millville (2011 grad). Vaughan owns the state three-point shooting record which he broke way back on Dec. 13.

Also scoring big against the Tigers Friday night were Shaun Hollenkamp (21), Anthony Bias (19), and Cameron Braund (10, with 6 rebounds).

• On Feb. 21, Braham zipped past visiting Moose Lake-WR 98-66 after leading 50-32 at the break. Vaughan sunk 7-of-12 three-pointers amid those 37 points, along with finding teammates for 14 assists and making 5 steals. Bias hit four ‘3s’ to score 21. Braund doubled up with 14 points and 10 rebounds, adding 4 steals.  Also contributing to the win were Zach Dahlman (8 points, 5 rebounds) and Drew Klemz (8 points).

The Rebels are now 14-9 and positioned to be the No. 3 seed in the 7AA South (behind Braham and Esko).
