Children’s Dental Health Month

Through February: In celebration of National Children’s Dental Health Month, stop by Cambridge Dental Center, 124 1st Ave East, Cambridge, to pick up a free child’s toothbrush while supplies last. They encourage families to focus on dental health care this month and throughout the year.

Family Movie Night

Thursday, Feb. 23: The Spirit River Community Center will hold a family movie night at 6 p.m. Cost is $2 at the door. The movie being shown is “Star Trek.” Spirit River is located at 1320 Co. Rd. 5 NE, Isanti (formerly Spectacular Events).

Fish Fry Dinner

Friday, Feb. 24: Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti will hold a Lenten Fish Fry from 4:30-7 p.m. All you can eat fish, potatoes, vegetables, coleslaw, dessert, and beverages will be served. Cost is $9/adult, $5/ages 6-12 and 5 and under are free. The church is located at the intersection of Co. Rds. 5 & 23 in Isanti. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council #10238.

Spaghetti Dinner

Friday, Feb. 24: Long Lake Lutheran Church, Hwy. 47 and 277th Ave., Isanti, will host a Spaghetti Dinner from 4-7 p.m. Adults, $5, ages 6-12, $3 and under 6 are free. Includes spaghetti, garlic bread, dessert and beverage for one low price.

Pork Chop Dinner at St. John Lutheran-Weber

Saturday, Feb. 25: The Mission Society of St. John Lutheran-Weber will be having its 14th Annual Pork Chop Dinner and Silent Auction from 5-7 p.m. at 28168 Jodrell St. NE North Branch. Ticket are Adults-$8, Children (ages 6-12) $5.50, Children under 5-free. This year they will be returning to New Orleans and working with Camp Restore in rebuilding the areas still devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Volunteers help with rebuilding churches, homes, wetlands and more. Help support them by coming to the pork chop dinner and silent auction. Call 763-444-5988 for more information.

New & Used Tack Sale

Saturday, Feb. 25: A New & Used Tack Sale, sponsored by the Isanti 4-H Horse Project, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Isanti Community Center (off 1st Ave. between Main Street and Co. Rd. 5). Professional Hat Shaper on site and Silpada Jewelry. Proceeds donated to the Isanti Ag Society for construction of a new announcer’s stand at the Isanti County Fairgrounds horse arena. Saturday, Feb. 25: The Isanti VFW will hold a Community Open House/Membership Drive from noon to 3 p.m. Information will be provided on upcoming community events, various veterans programs and Information on how you can get involved and help our community and veterans. ‘Burst Into Spring- horticultural day’

Saturday, March 3: The Isanti County Master Gardeners are hosting their 8th annual ‘Burst into Spring’ horticultural event from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at North Isanti Baptist Church, 2248 313th Ave. NE in Cambridge. Cost: $15 before Feb. 25th and $20 day of the event. The keynote presenter, Stan Tiekela, Naturalist and Wildlife Photographer will speak on ‘Amazing Hummingbirds.’ There is plenty to do for gardeners with spring fever: classes on various gardening topics, vendors, information booths, vendors, lunch, door prizes and a silent auction. Friday, March 23: The Christ the King Knights of Columbus is once again sponsoring its annual Fish Fry Dinner from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Catholic Parish Hall, 315 North Fern Street in Cambridge. As usual, the meal is all you can eat. Excellent fish, potatoes, vegetable, coleslaw, dessert, coffee/milk and juice will be served. Prices are $9 for adults; $5 for 12 and under and free for children 5 and under.
