At a recent meeting in Braham, the East Central Regional Arts Council (ECRAC) elected Arne Everson as a new ECRAC board member representing Isanti County.
Everson, of Cambridge, taught vocal music in the Cambridge-Isanti school district for 29 years, and recently retired after 35 years as Director of Music at Cambridge Lutheran Church. \He is currently the director of the PrimeTime Singers in Cambridge, and is the newly elected the chairman of the Cambridge Humanities and Education Foundation and the Cambridge Center for the Arts.
Everson was one of the original East Central Arts Council members serving in the late 1970s. He also has served as chair of the East Central Minnesota Concert Association and the Cambridge Swedish Festival, and has been the business manager of the East Central MN Chorale for 10 years. He has sung with the chorale for 30 years.
ECRAC is one of Minnesota’s Regional Arts Councils. It is an organization for improving the quantity and quality of arts in the region. This is accomplished primarily through grant-making and technical assistance for organizations and individuals. During his two-year term, Everson will participate in ECRAC’s volunteer board of directors. The board is composed of artists, art advocates, and arts enthusiasts from across the five county Region 7E (Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs and Pine counties.)
