Family appreciates support

Dear Editor:

Shayla Fisher and her parents, Kris and Greg Lilienthal and Shawn Fisher, would like to thank everyone for their support during the last four months.

The moment Shayla was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer the outpouring support from our family, friends and community was amazing. In difficult times you sometimes feel alone, not us; we had many family members, teachers, students, community members and strangers helping us through it.

Thank you to all who donated auction items and to all who stopped by to say hi to her. A special thank you to Dr. Allen at Firstlight Clinic Mora, who originally diagnosed her and sent us to Children’s in Minneapolis. To all the doctors and nurses at Children’s, what can you say but thank you. The care they give is incredible, not only to Shay but to all of her family members. We thank you for saving our Shay.

We want to thank the Braham Fire Department for organizing a successful benefit in Shayla’s honor. To my parents, Gary and Shirley Seefeld, Sister Kelly Caswell and her family, my Grandparents Lyola and Gil Seefeld and her siblings Bailey, Grace, Jeff, Kortni and Dustin your daily talks, prayers and encouragement made this journey that much easier for us. Thank you to Aunt Judy and Brooke Ann Metcalf for making her hats.  Thank you to all the teachers and students at Braham Schools for the fundraisers and tremendous support you gave us.
