Braham Spelling Bee champ crowned

Madelyn Bombard, 8th grader at Braham Area High School, spelled “gouge” correctly to become the District Spelling Bee Champion. She won a free student subscription to Kids Encyclopedia Britannica Online and an Online PowerSpeaK-12 World Language Course. Madelyn (left) will advance on to the Regional Spelling Bee at St. John’s University on Feb. 15. Good luck, Madelyn. If she is unable to attend, runner-up alternate, Lilia Anderson, a 5th grader at Braham Area Elementary School (right), will advance in her place.
