Braham girls reach 20-win mark against Hibbing

The Bombers, ranked 3rd in Class AA girls basketball, earned their 20th win of the season with a Saturday matinee win over visiting Hibbing Feb. 4. Becca Dahlman scored 39, Kelsey Sorenson-Giffrow 14 and Austyn Eng 9 to pace Braham.

On Feb. 2, Braham stayed in control of the Great River Conference by defeating host Ogilvie 91-53. The Bombers can clinch at least a share of their third-straight GRC championship by defeating Pine City Feb. 10 and visiting Isle Monday, Feb. 13. The Huskies gave Braham a tough 71-70 battle back on Jan. 5.

• Bomber Hoops will host “Senior Citizen Fan Appreciation Nights” at the Feb. 17 boys game with Rush City and the Feb. 23 girls game vs. Holy Family Catholic.

Knights jump out early to defeat Jacket boys

St. Michael-Albertville stayed pace with Buffalo in Mississippi 8 boys basketball and kept the host Bluejackets winless in conference games with a 73-52 victory Feb. 3. Jonah Poppen led C-I with 13 points and 3 assists. Adding more points for the Jackets were Tom Selz (11), Hunter Vavra (9) and Jordan Schleicher (6).
