THURSDAY NIGHT SPORTS: The Cambridge-Isanti girls basketball team had its Mississippi 8 record dip to 4-4 when visiting St. Michael-Albertville pulled away with a 72-67 win Feb. 2. The Knights sunk their final 10 free throws and finished 20-of-26 at the line for the game.
Senior Whitney Olson led C-I with 23 points. She is now just 41 points off the team and school career scoring record of 1,799 set by Jonelle Streed back in 1999. The Bluejackets host Duluth Denfeld in a 2:30 p.m. matinee game on Saturday, then they host Monticello on Monday, Feb. 6 (7:15 p.m.).

The Bluejackets slipped early on the Vault, and they never caught back up to the host Bulldogs who won their final Mississippi 8 dual meet of the season. Cambridge-Isanti (3-2 M8, 6-2 overall duals) was led by the night’s top All-Arounder Britta Rud who totaled 35.5. points. Michelle Ziebarth added an 8.925 on the Floor.
C-I Boys Swim/Dive 104, Princeton 77
The Bluejackets defeated the visiting Tigers in a non-conference dual Feb. 2. Earning 1st places in individual events for the Bluejackets were: Kyle McCormick (200 Free), Matt Taray (200 IM), Calvin Cicha (100 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke), Benj Nault-Maurer (100 Free), Peter Edblad (500 Free), and John Solberg (100 Backstroke).
* The Grades 7-9 Super Swim will be hosted at Elk River this Saturday.
Braham Girls 91, Ogilvie 53
The Bombers, ranked 3rd in Class AA, improved to 19-1 with a victory at Ogilvie Feb. 2. Braham hosts Hibbing in a non-conference matinee this Saturday.
