Since joining the Board, Nastrom’s duties and passion have been the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds and buildings. Having spent over 45 years in the construction business, Nastrom’s building skills have helped improve and maintain the fairgrounds and many of the buildings. Some of his projects have included the construction of a new portable stage; renovation and remodeling of the Community Building used for Open Class and weddings; updating the underground water and electrical service; planting trees throughout the grounds; and remodeling and maintaining the 4-H Family Café and exhibit building.

In addition to his maintenance duties and serving as treasurer of the Ag Society, Nastrom has served on the Cambridge Township Board, delivers ‘Meals on Wheels’ to local residents and helps at Christ the King Church in Cambridge.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time at the lake, doing remodeling jobs around the house and visiting many County Fairs getting ideas and speaking with other Fair Board Members. Nastrom and his wife Mona of 48 years are honored to have also received the ‘WCCO Good Neighbor’ award in 2010, and can be found cruising the highways in his restored ’61 Chevy Impala showing up at Car Shows all over the State.
