Women’s Ministry’s Extravaganza

Thursday, Jan. 26: New Hope Cambridge Women’s Ministry’s Extravaganza will be held at Spectacular Events Banquet Center in Isanti. Doors open at 6 p.m. for punch and viewing tables. ‘Souper Bowl’ fundraiser

Friday, Jan. 27: The Braham Community Garden Club will hold its 14th annual ‘Souper Bowl’ fundraiser featuring a variety of soups, garlic bread and dessert. The luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Braham Evangelical Lutheran Church. A suggested donation of $5 per person is encouraged.

Pancake Breakfast to support Girl Scouts

Saturday, Jan. 28: To support Girl Scout Troop 13021 in their Bronze Award, the Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast from 7-11 a.m. at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Braham, 1050 Southview Ave. Adults $6, Youth 4-12 $3, Under 3 is free. All are welcome. Pancakes, meat, eggs, fresh fruit and beverages will be served.

Music & Pie Concert

Sunday, Jan. 29: Musician Todd Menton will perform at the Music & Pie Concert at Siloa Lutheran Church. He will perform traditional Irish and English tunes. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. with the concert at 3 p.m. Enjoy the music and a slice of pie. Free will donations accepted with proceeds given to the performer.

Knights of Columbus Family Ice Fishing Contest

Sunday, Jan. 29: The 18th Annual Knights of Columbus Family Ice Fishing Contest will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Green Lake (Hwys. 47 & 95, Watch for Signs). Cash prizes given from largest northern, walleye, crappie, sunfish and perch. First prize for the largest fish caught by weight. Other prizes given away during the contest. Holes drilled before the contest for free. Entry fee is $2 and includes one drawing ticket for door prizes. 2 and under free. One hole per person. Free minnows for contest. There will also be a lunch stand, warming tents and portable toilets available. Sponsored by Isanti Council #10238 Knights of Columbus. In case of snowstorm, contest will be postponed one week.

Soup-it Up cooking demonstration

Tuesday, Jan. 31: East Terrace Cooperative residents and guests are invited to a Soup-it Up cooking demonstration and sam-pling and a “secret ingredient sample too.” The event will be held at the Kitchen/Great Room at East Terrace Cooperative from 1 to 2:30 p.m. You will learn some new techniques to making great soup and have some fun with your neighbors. Darla Wessels a.k.a. the Soup Nazi, is the Culinary Director at GracePointe Crossing, and her sense of humor will brighten your day. RSVP to Julie Tooker at 763-691-6192 by Jan. 26.

Silent Auction Fundraiser for Long Lake

Saturday, Feb. 4: The 4th Annual Silent Auction sponsored by the Long Lake Improvement Association (LLIA) will be held at Captain’s on Long Lake in Isanti. Anyone (businesses & private) can place items in the auction and anyone can bid on the items. If your item sells you will get 75% and 25% will go to the LLIA. Drop off is at 9 a.m., with the auction starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. Several local area antique and boutique shops are bringing items. All businesses are encouraged to bring items. Complimentary Tea

Tuesday, Feb. 7: The community is invited to a Reach Out and Read Complimentary Tea at 2:30 p.m. at Riverwood Village, 909 S. Dellwood, Cambridge. A beautiful quilt and other prizes will be available in our raffle. Reach Out and Read promotes early literacy via Cambridge Medical Center.

Cambridge Chamber Fun Frolic

Friday, Feb. 10: The Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce Fun Frolic will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Cambridge American Legion. Family Swim

Saturday, Feb. 11: The Children’s Shelter of Cebu, Cebu City, Philippines, will host a Family Swim event for adopted and blended families at the Cambridge-Isanti High School Pool from 3 to 5 p.m. Cost is $2 per person or $5 per family. 2nd Annual Military Appreciation Night

Saturday, Feb. 11: In conjunction with the Cambridge Isanti Bluejacket Boys Hockey varsity game at 7 p.m., the Isanti Civic Ice Arena would like to show appreciation for the area’s military veterans, both active and retired. The local color guard will perform pregame honors and various local and regional military veteran service organizations will be present as well. All are encouraged to come and enjoy the fellowship while supporting the CIHS Bluejacket Boys hockey team for their Senior Night competition against St. Michael. JV game starts at 5:15 p.m. Varsity game starts at 7 p.m. All veterans with a valid active, guard/reserve, or retired military ID will be admitted free of charge to both games. Cake and coffee will be served. The Isanti Ice Arena is located at 600 1st Ave N. in Isanti.
