Calling all Dist. 911 Kindergarten students for 2013

SCHOOL NOTES: Cambridge-Isanti District 911 is preparing for Kindergarten for next fall. If your child is 5 years-old on or before Sept. 1, 2012, he or she is eligible to enroll. Do we have your student’s name in our system yet? Please call the primary school office in your area to get your child’s name on the list and/or verify your address information. Kaleidoscope Scholarship information

Education Minnesota Cambridge-Isanti, the Kaleidoscope Revue and District 911 are sponsoring six $1,000 scholarships. Recipients must be a Cambridge-Isanti senior or past graduate planning on pursuing a degree in education. Scholarship information is available from Mari Ringness in the CIHS career center. Applicatioin deadline is Monday, March 12.

CMC Healthcare scholarships application

Cambridge Medical Center and the Memorial Hospital Foundation offer a variety of medically related scholarships to offset the rising cost of tuition. Scholarship applications are available online at or by calling CMC Administration at 763-688-7840. In order to be eligible you must live in the areas serviced by the Cambridge Medical Center and be accepted into an accredited health care program. The deadline for application is April 30. Scholarship applications are also available in the Administration Office at Cambridge Medical Center. Call 763-688-7840 for questions or an application.

Babysitter Training Class in Cambridge

On Monday, Feb. 20,  Kanabec County Hospital staff will teach students ages 11 – 13 the skills needed to be more confident and capable caregivers. This class uses the “Safe Sitter” curriculum to  teach safe and nurturing child care techniques, behavior management skills and appropriate responses to medical emergencies. Safe Sitters learn how to prevent injuries, call for help, and learn about the business aspects of babysitting, such as screening new families and knowing what to charge.
