Jacket Gymnasts beat Bison in M-8 dual

THURSDAY NIGHT SPORTS: Cambridge-Isanti posted a solid 140.4 score to visiting Buffalo’s 130.0 to improve to 2-1 in Mississippi 8 Gymnastics dual meets Jan. 19. Freshman Britta Rud led the Bluejackets on both the Vault (9.05) and Floor (9.275) while scoring a 35.6 All-Around total.

Seventh grader Hannah Haight came through with the Bluejackets’ top scores on the Bars (8.875) and the Beam (8.925) to help defeat the Bison. More highlight scores came from Morgan Urness (9.15 on Floor), Michelle Ziebarth (8.9 on Vault, 8.925 on Floor) and Jessica Christenson (8.8 on Beam).

St. Michael-Alb. 6, C-I Boys Hockey 4

Sophomore Kurtis Grimm scored his second goal of the game 17 seconds into the third period for a 4-3 Bluejacket lead, but the host Knights responded with three straight goals to drop Cambridge-Isanti’s record to 0-3 in Mississippi 8 boys hockey. Also scoring for the Jackets were Skye Hunt-Schuft and Jordan Locken, with Jared Knutson making 26 saves on 32 shots.

Cambridge-Isanti boys swim & dive’s conference record slipped to 1-1 with a dual loss at St. Michael Jan. 19.

Tiger Wrestlers split at Cloquet

The Rush City-Braham wrestlers defeated host Cloquet but lost to Naswauk-Keewatin 54-24 at a Jan. 19 triangular up north. The Tigers are now 3-3 in overall duals this season.
