Free Community Dinner
Thursday, Jan. 19: A free Community Dinner will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Use the downstairs entrance. Everyone is welcome to join for a time of fellowship and a meal. Call the church office at 763-444-9201 with questions.
Friday, Jan. 20: The Isanti County Self-Advocacy group will hold a meeting from 4-5:30 p.m. with a potluck following. Bring something to share. Owls Hockey hosting annual Chili Cook Off
Saturday Jan. 21: The Minnesota Owls Hockey Team is having its annual Chili Cook Off at their 7:30 p.m. game at the David C. Johnson Arena in Isanti. Any fan who wishes can bring a large pot of chili to the game and compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. The chili will be voted on by Owls’ fans in attendance.
City Center Market and City Center Café Events
Saturday, Jan. 21: City Center Market celebrates their 33rd birthday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with cake, music, chair massage and samples. Spend $33 on that day and be entered in a drawing for 33 of the Co-op’s most popular products. Listen to local musician, Kenny Krona, between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Take advantage of a relaxing chair massage between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., courtesy of WillowBridge Center. Also, City Center Café, the co-op’s new coffee shop, is celebrating their Grand Opening with free brewed coffee, samples of cinnamon rolls and cheesecake and drawings for gift cards. Bring 2 items for the food shelf and receive a free punch on your coffee card.
Sons of Norway Meeting
Tuesday, Jan. 24: The Sons of Norway will meet at 7 p.m. at SAC’s on Third in Cambridge, 332 3rd Ave. N.W. This new Sons of Norway lodge is seeking members. Men and women are welcome. If you are Norwegian or just interested in Nordic culture, come and visit. For more information call Gordy or Kathy Hagfors at 763-689-3401. Sons of Norway was organized in 1868 to protect members from financial hardship during times of sickness of death of a family member. Today its mission has expanded to include preservation of Norwegian heritage and culture.
Cambridge Senior Dance
Wednesday, Jan. 25: Cambridge Senior Dance will be held at the American Legion in Cambridge from 1-4 p.m. with Tony Jambor playing. Cost is $5.
Women’s Ministry’s Extravaganza
Thursday, Jan. 26: New Hope Cambridge Women’s Ministry’s Extravaganza will be held at Spectacular Events Banquet Center in Isanti. Doors open at 6 p.m. for punch and viewing tables. Dinner will be held at 7 p.m. Valet parking. Tickets are $20 each and available by calling the church at 763-552-7979.

Pancake Breakfast to support Girl Scouts
Saturday, Jan. 28: To support Girl Scout Troop 13021 in their Bronze Award, the Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast from 7-11 a.m. at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Braham, 1050 Southview Ave. Adults $6, Youth 4-12 $3, Under 3 is free. All are welcome. Pancakes, meat, eggs, fresh fruit and beverages will be served.
Knights of Columbus Family Ice Fishing Contest
Sunday, Jan. 29: The 18th Annual Knights of Columbus Family Ice Fishing Contest will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Green Lake (Hwys. 47 & 95, Watch for Signs). Cash prizes given from largest northern, walleye, crappie, sunfish and perch. First prize for the largest fish caught by weight. Other prizes given away during the contest. Holes drilled before the contest for free. Entry fee is $2 and includes one drawing ticket for door prizes. 2 and under free. One hole per person. Free minnows for contest. There will also be a lunch stand, warming tents and portable toilets available. Sponsored by Isanti Council #10238 Knights of Columbus. In case of snowstorm, contest will be postponed one week.
