Lawrence “Lani” Perry

Lawrence “Lani” Perry, Jr., 46, of Isanti, died unexpectedly January 15, 2012 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Lawrence Eugene Perry, Jr. was born May 27, 1965 in Oceanside, Calif. to Lawrence Perry, Sr. and Alice (Leathers) Perry. He was raised and attended school in California. In 1985 he moved to Minnesota and lived in Circle Pines. In 1986 he met Lynelle Lovejoy and they would be married on June 18, 1989. They made their home in St. Francis for 15 years before moving to the Isanti area. Lawrence worked in the bowling business and was a bowling coach for many years. He also loved to cook and just recently received his Chefs Certificate through Le Cordon Bleu. Music was a big part of his life. He especially loved his buddy, grandchild Ayden, who called him Papa.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Perry and sister, Fredrika Peterson. He is survived by his wife, Lynelle of Isanti; 4 children, Richard Garcia of California, Chantae Perry and fiance’ Kevin Kassa of Cambridge, Lani (Ronnie Winslow) Perry of Isanti and Kyrie’ Perry of Isanti; 1 grandchild, Aydan Michael-Lawrence Kassa; 2 brothers; and by many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at the Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior. Honorary pallbearers are Lani Perry, Richard Garcia, Kevin Kassa, Aydan Kassa, Keith Lovejoy and Scott Rasinski.
