A memory care assisted living home, Prairie Senior Cottages will be home for up to 20 residents who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and require 24-hour care and supervision.

The residential alternative at Prairie Senior Cottages is the first project of its kind in Isanti. Although other options are available in the area for people with memory loss, Prairie Senior Cottages’ approach focuses on a residential model of care and service delivery. It’s a place that smells like home, tastes like home, looks like home, and becomes home.

The community room is a very warm and inviting place for their residents and family members.

The concept of residential housing for those with memory loss has received widespread national recognition from dementia experts as a welcomed care alternative for families seeking supportive services for their loved ones. Prairie Senior Cottages has proven this residential care model since 1998 in other Minnesota communities including Willmar, Hutchinson, Alexandria and New Ulm.

Including residents of Prairie Senior Cottages in every activity is part of their philosophy. Prairie Senior Cottages focuses on creating normal daily experiences for people where they feel a sense of purpose and value.

Beyond programs that include residents in routine daily activities, Prairie Senior Cottages has specially trained staff onsite 24-hours a day ready to meet the moment by moment needs of the residents. From assisting with laundry, housekeeping, medications, bathing, and mobility to preparing all meals and snacks and providing one-on-one transportation for appointments and errands, the staff at Prairie Senior Cottages does it all. Whatever the client needs or wants, the staff is available to assist.

The community kitchen is very spacious to accommodate all the resident’s needs.

During the peak hours of the day, there can be as many as five staff working including caregivers, nurses and management.

Prairie Senior Cottages is equipped with special design features including a delayed egress security system to monitor elopement, an enclosed courtyard area with strolling paths, a remote monitoring system, handicap-accessible therapeutic tub, private rooms with bathrooms and engaging living areas and niches.
