Cambridge-Isanti improved to 2-0 in Mississippi 8 duals by hammering the host Royals Jan. 5. Earning falls for the Bluejackets were David Kent (132), Robbie Phillips (138), Russel Laboe (160), Cole Bakke (170), Ben Zins (182) and Jon Knowlton (285). Adding major decisions were Monty Fredericksen (113) and Aaron Ecklund (152).

The Bombers picked up a huge road win Jan. 5 by handing the Huskies their first loss in the Great River Conference.

The host Magic stung the Bluejackets for 45 points in the second half to earn their first Mississippi 8 win of the season. Leading the C-I girls were Natalie Larson (15 pts/10 reb) and Amanda Hanson (13 pts/5 reb).

Cambridge-Isanti Boys Swim/Dive 98, Buffalo 88

The Bluejackets opened the Mississippi 8 Conference season 1-0 by defeating the host Bison Jan. 5. Posting 1st places for Cambridge-Isanti were Calvin Cicha (200 IM and 100 Breaststroke), Parker Brown (Diving), the 200 Free Relay (Cicha, K.McCormick, G.McCormick, Codner) and the 400 Free Relay (K.McCormick, G.McCormick, Codner, Nault-Maurer).

Rogers 4, Cambridge-Isanti Boys Hockey 2

The Bluejackets dropped their M-8 Conference opener to the visiting Royals Jan. 5. Rogers led 3-0 before Jordan Locken for C-I scored with two minutes remaining in the second period. Locken added a second goal two minutes after the Royals upped their lead to 4-1 early in the third period. Jared Knutson made 35 saves in the Bluejacket net. The C-I boys went 0-for-7 on the power play.
