Carol June Chetwood Ball, 79, RN and mother, went to the Great Beyond on December 30, 2011 leaving a grateful family Teresa D. (Michael) Qualy, Kevin W. (Jan) Ball, Crystal J. (John) Sorensen, Leanne N. (Mark) Reichel along with grandchildren Tynan (Sara) Lundblad, Tristan (Tiffany) Lundblad, Jeffrey Reichel, Carolyn Reichel, Gregory (Tina) Reichel, James Sorensen and 2 great grandchildren. She was born May 30, 1932 in Wallowa, Ore. She and her family soon moved Kamiah, Idaho where she graduated from high school in 1950 and soon married Dale W. Ball (deceased).
Later she and her children moved to the foreign country of Minnesota. She got a job at the former Cambridge State Hospital in 1969, and returned to school to obtain her Registered Nurses Degree at the age of 40—an occupation which garnered her the respect of all she worked with while becoming a mentor and friend to many.
Carol worked up to age 78 until her health failed, but her love of nursing never faltered as she assisted people in hospice, geriatrics, and special needs,
She was a lifelong camper, gardener, Vikings/Twins Fan, and she loved spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren between vacations and the occasional gambling trip.
No flowers please. Memorial donations will be made toward a nursing scholarship fund for returning older students in Memory of Carol J. Ball, R.N.
The celebration of Carol’s life will be held January 5, 2012 at Wintergreen’s, 306 Credit Union Drive (off Co. Rd. 5 West), Isanti, MN, 763-444-8422.
