Isanti man sentenced to 15 years in prison for criminal sexual conduct

An Isanti man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for felony, 1st degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor—in a position of authority.
Douglas Neil Raasch, 35, appeared before Judge P. Hunter Anderson on Wednesday, Dec. 21 in Isanti County District Court.
Judge Anderson sentenced Raasch to 180 months to the MN Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, with credit for time served since March 4, 2010. Raasch will have to register as a predatory offender, and will be on supervised probation for 10 years following his release from prison.
Raasch was charged with two counts of felony, 1st degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, who he is in a position of authority. Raasch first appeared in court March 5, 2010, and pled not guilty to both charges in April 2010.
On Oct. 18, 2011 a jury found Raasch guilty of the second count which indicated Raasch engaged in sexual penetration with the victim. The jury acquitted Raasch on the first count which involved sexual contact.
According to the criminal complaint, the sexual acts began in October 2005 and continued through March 2010. When law enforcement and family services interviewed the victim, she indicated the acts occurred every couple of months.
