C-I Swim 10th at Blaine Invite

The Bluejacket boys swim & dive squad was tested against good competition on Saturday, placing 10th out of 14 teams at the Blaine Invitational.

Cambridge-Isanti’s top placers on the day were Benj Nault-Mauer and Calvin Cicha. Nault-Maurer placed 5th in the 100 Free Style (53.8) and 9th in the 100 Backstroke (1:01.6). Cicha went 5th in the 100 Breaststroke (1:07.6) and 9th in the 200 IM (2:14.6). Cicha also joined Grant McCormick, Kyle McCormick and Darren Codner on the Jackets’ top finishing relay, the 200 Free (7th, 1:38.9).

K. McCormick was 14th in the 50 Free and 15th in the 100 Free. Codner added a 15th-place in the 50 Free.

C-I 100, Champlin Park 86

The Bluejackets improved to 2-0 in duals with a home win Dec. 20 over the Rebels. Posting 1st places in individual events for the C-I boys were Calvin Cicha in the 200 IM (2:14) and 100 Breaststroke (1:06), Austin Hemmelgarn in Diving (127 pts), and Benj Nault-Maurer in the 100 Free (53.9) and 100 Backstroke (1:01).
