Leroy Wallace Mell, 76, of Harris, died December 9, 2011 at Cambridge Medical Center.
He was the first child born to Wallace and Clara Mell on June 6, 1935 in North Branch Township. On April 22, 1961 he married Barbara Nylund.
He enjoyed working as a carpenter constructing both commercial and residential buildings. He had many interests including traveling, hunting, fishing, farming, and flying. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and served as an elder in the local congregation. He enjoyed talking about the Bible’s hope of a Paradise earth free from sickness and death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bonnie Dehn, and grandson Dustin Johnson.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Brenda (Dan) Johnson and Monica (Jason) Alderman; grandsons, Matthew (Emily) Johnson, Alex Johnson, and Benjamin (Allison) Johnson; great grand-children, Aurora and Noah Johnson; siblings, Marlin Mell, Gary (Barbara) Mell, Muriel (Ted) Rohlf, Beverly (William) Horan, and Alan Mell.
A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on December 31, 2011 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cambridge, Minn.
