THURSDAY SPORTS: Cambridge-Isanti got off to a 1-0 start in Mississippi 8 girls basketball by holding off visiting Rogers 52-51 Dec. 15. Junior Paige Muehlhauser led the Bluejackets with 25 points, including sinking 1-of-2 free throws late to break a 51-51 tie. The Royals had two last field goal attempts which bounced off the rim on their final possession.
Muehlhauser made 9-of-11 shots from the field during her career-high night of scoring, and she doubled up with 10 rebounds. More Bluejackets adding significant numbers were Natalie Larson (10 points/6 rebounds) and Emily Holboy (6 points).
Braham Boys Basketball 55, Grantsburg, WI 43
The Bombers enjoyed a tight win over the host Pirates Dec. 15 with another strong defensive night, forcing 23 turnovers and making 11 steals (Tyler Vaughan led with 4 steals). Vaughan also dished 13 assists and scored 14 points. Shaun Hollencamp added a career-high 18 points, Anthony Bias scored 10, and Camberon braund led with 7 rebounds in the win.

The Bluejackets began 1-0 in the Mississippi 8 Gymnastics standings with the road victory Dec. 15. Senior Emily Stewart had a huge night leading Cambridge-Isanti with top scores in all four events (9.55 Vault, 9.3 Bars, 9.2 Beam, 9.35 Floor).
St. Paul Johnson 4, C-I Boys Hockey 0
The Bluejackets went 0-for-7 on the power play in a road loss to the Governors Dec. 15. Johnson scored single goals in the first and second periods, adding two more in the third including an empty-netter.
Late Tuesday: Hinckley-Pine City 42, Rush City-BR Wrestling 32
In a Great River Conference dual Dec. 13, the Tigers led 34-24 after a strong run in the middle weights, but the Jaguars pulled out the victory with pins in the three final matches. Recording falls for Rush City-Braham were Tyler Stitz (113), Dan Taylor (126), Isaiah Johnson (160), and Logan Johnson (170).
