Vaughan honored at Mr. Football banquet

Braham’s Tyler Vaughan (seated far left) was one of the finalists for the Minnesota Mr. Football award which was presented to Mankato West quarterback Philip Nelson (seated center) at the Dec. 11 banquet. QB Vaughan passed for 1,525 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2011, along with rushing for 1,336 yards and 18 TDs for the State-entrant Bombers. He also had 50 tackles and 2 interceptions on defense.

  Along with Vaughan and Nelson, more Mr. Football finalists were Blue Earth tackle Jonah Pirsig, Marshall running back Beau Bofferding, Cretin-Derham Hall D-tackle Jonathan Harden, Lakeville North quarterback Trey Heid, Eden Prairie running back Andrew Larson, Hopkins receiver Andre McDonald, and South St. Paul running back Sam Sura.
