Legion Oratorical Contest winner announced

The American Legion Howard McCarty Post 290 announced that Kara Sundvall, daughter of Wayne and Melissa Sundvall, was the winner of the 2012 Cambridge-Isanti High School Oratorical Contest sponsored by the post. Sundvall received a $150 scholarship award for winning the contest.

Sundvall, a junior, gave a speech on the Constitution of the United States with major emphasis on the duties and obligations of each citizen.

The annual American Legion Oratorical Contest was held at Cambridge-Isanti High School on Thursday, Dec. 8. Post 290 Americanism Chairman Bob Theis and Della Theis were the judges for the Cambridge Post.
