EverBlest Youth to hold open casting for “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”
EverBlest is thrilled to announce auditions for “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” on Jan. 4, from 3 to 9:30 p.m.
The show will be a central part of EverBlest’s 25th anniversary celebration. In addition to a fully staged production in May, EverBlest plans to perform the show as part of their summer tour, which they will finish with a big home concert celebration with alumni in August. Production calendar, audition forms and technical crew applications are available in the office of Cambridge Lutheran Church.
EverBlest Youth is an outreach ministry program of Cambridge Lutheran Church. It has been a vital part of the youth culture in Cambridge for since 1987, welcoming any high school youth who wish to participate in the mission of sharing faith and glorifying Jesus Christ through the gift of music.
Any young adult still in school – from 14 to 18 – is welcome to audition for participation. There will be casting for principal roles, chorus, and instrumentalists. For those who don’t wish to be on stage but would like to be a part of the production process – lighting, costumes, scenery, props – there are plenty of opportunities. Being available for tour – tentatively scheduled from July 29 – Aug. 12 – is not absolutely necessary to be considered for casting.
“Staging a musical is a pretty big departure from what we have done in recent years, but we are so excited about this opportunity,” said Director Dr. Andrew Barrett. “We have the chance to mentor young adults in all aspects of theater production, not just staging. We have an experienced and professional staff for all components of production, including design, construction, and production.
“There is something for everyone who would like to be a part of a faith-based community experience. The members of EverBlest are enthusiastic about the musical, it’s message of faith, and sharing the EverBlest experience with others! Taking this show on tour out west has us all pretty excited. We will share the production’s message with audiences from Cambridge to the Grand Tetons,” he added.
EverBlest will rehearse for the musical on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9 p.m., and certain Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cambridge Lutheran Church, 621 Old North Main Street, Cambridge, and welcomes high school age young adults who are interested in being a part of this exciting program.
