Childcare offered for Christmas shopping

Santa’s lil’ Sitters—Childcare for Christmas Shopping, will be offered Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Cornerstone at Long Lake Lutheran Church.

Come for part of the day or all day. The babysitting will be offered as a fundraiser for Long Lake Lutheran’s Youth Group. A donation of $5 per hour is requested. Children 6 months to 11 years-old are welcome. They will have activities, meals and fun.

“A Mystery Mountain Christmas” will bring Christmas Spirit

The Mystery Mountain Boys, a local gospel-bluegrass band, will present “A Mystery Mountain Christmas” at Spring Lake Lutheran, North Branch, on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m.

The “Boys” invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy as they perform Christmas songs, bluegrass, country gospel and whatever else the Lord inspires them to do. Be prepared to laugh and sing along during this evening of good music and fellowship. There is no charge for the concert, but free will donations will be joyfully accepted.

Fellowship and refreshments will follow the concert. Also, get a jump on your Christmas ‘baking’ by shopping at the bake sale after the concert. The delicious baked goods will be provided by the members of Spring Lake Lutheran who are known for their baking expertise.

East Central Minnesota Chorale concerts

The East Central Minnesota Chorale and its select high school honors choir, Unum Vox, presents its annual Christmas concerts, Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Mora; Friday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Princeton; Saturday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City, and 7:30 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cambridge.

Tickets are on sale in Mora at Coborn’s and Grace Lutheran; in Pine City at the Pine Center for the Arts and Our Redeemer Lutheran; in Princeton at K-Bob Café; in Cambridge at the Leader;  as well as from Chorale and Unum Vox members, or at the door.  Tickets are good at any of the four venues; $10 for adults; age 17 and under are admitted free.


All welcome to traditional Christmas Sing Dec. 11 at Stanchfield Baptist Church

Stanchfield Baptist Church invites all community members to a Traditional Christmas Sing Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m.

This will be an informal time of special music by Pam Theline and Janette Benzen as well as other guests, hymn requests and Christmas carol singing by the audience, and a devotional message by Pastor Dale Cope. Light refreshments will be served following the program. The event is free, an offering will be received.

South Isanti Baptist Church Annual Cookie Walk Dec. 17

Want to try a new cookie, bar or bread?  Perhaps you would just like an excuse to get out and shop for holiday goodies—then you should head to the 4th annual cookie walk. What is a cookie walk? It’s a modern day bake sale focused on cookies. Come and purchase your favorites or try something new on Saturday,  Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at South Isanti Baptist Church, located 3 miles east on Co. Rd. 5 in Isanti. A lunch of sloppy joes, chips and cookie will be available for purchase throughout the day.


Isanti Senior Dining Christmas Dinner

Isanti Senior Diners will enjoy Christmas Dinner at the Isanti Community Center on Dec. 21.

Reservations may be made by calling 763-689-4691 and indicate for Isanti Senior Dining. Reservations must be made by Monday, Dec. 19. Menu will be: Honey glazed Ham, Sweet  Potato Casserole, Country Trio Vegetables, Dinner Roll, cranberry Garnish and Christmas Cake. Happenings begin at 11 a.m. and the dinner at noon.  Suggested contribution for persons 60+ and volunteer is $3.50 – $7. Guests under 60 pay $7.

Reminder: The Isanti Dining Site will be closed on Dec. 12 and Dec. 14 due to Isanti Lions Christmas Project. Other arrangements can be made in advance. Monday, Dec. 19 is Bingo and blood pressure with Angie Swensen; and Monday, Dec. 26 and Wednesday, Dec. 28 is Bingo as well as.
