Knocking down a jumper around the 8 minute mark of the second half, Braham senior Kelsey Sorenson-Giffrow reached the 1,000-point mark of her hard-working career when the Bombers defeated Onamia 78-22 in the Nov. 29 season-opener. KSG finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 7 steals in the victory.
“It was a nice tribute to Kelsey to get this achievement at home, and there was a big crowd on hand to celebrate with her,” said Bomber Coach Tim Malone.
Becca Dahlman also shined in the win, recording a triple-double with 37 points, 12 rebounds and 12 steals against the Panthers. Kayla Nickles added 17 points for the defending Class AA champions, with Dani Braund scoring 4 inside. Angie Bendickson and Carley Lynch hit buckets for their first varsity points for Braham.
At Saturday’s Tip-Off Classic at Hopkins, the Bombers face defending ‘A’ champ Maranatha Christian at 2:45 p.m., followed by the Braham boys taking on Class 4A champ Hopkins at 4:30 p.m.
