Pancake breakfast to support Isanti County Christmas Project
The Isanti Lions are cooking for the community again. Come to a pancake breakfast at the Isanti Community Center on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 8 a.m. to noon and help raise money for the community.
The Isanti County Christmas Project, which is coordinated by the Isanti Lions Club, has been going on since 1983 and serves about 400 families and many more kids every year. In recent years funds have been low for this project.
Come help support the Isanti County Christmas Project by having breakfast with your neighbors. Breakfast is $5 for all you can eat pancakes and scrambled eggs with ham, juice, milk and coffee. Seniors and kids are $4. They will also have thick sliced strips of bacon sold separately for $1 per strip. After breakfast you can donate your tip to the charity of your choice.
Lions Clubs international is the world’s largest service organization and has clubs in 200 nations around the world. It has as it major goals, Sight, Hearing, Diabetes, Drug Awareness and Community Service. Some of the money raised throughout the year goes to these causes.
Other money raised throughout the year is given for other local causes. Some examples of local needs are eye glasses, payment of medical bills, payment of rent or utility bills, relief for hardship cases in the form of food vouchers at local stores, fundraisers for youth sports and youth education trips.
