Jacket boys fall 7-2 in hockey opener

The Cambridge-Isanti boys hockey squad began the 2011-12 season with a 7-2 loss at North St. Paul Nov. 26. The Polars raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first period before Bluejacket senior Brennan Osen scored on the power play off a Preston Simon assist.

With the Polars ahead 7-1 in the second period, Peter Storlie added the Jackets’ final goal, assisted by Osen and T.J. Pagel. Billy Winselman took the loss in the nets, finishing with 40 saves.

The Bluejackets’ home opener will be this Thursday when defending Section 7AA champ Duluth East comes to town. C-I wil also host Duluth Denfeld in a 3 p.m. matinee on Saturday.
